Enjoying food and taking your time with your meal is an important tip for a first date and can also fill in some of those gaps between conversion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drinking<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For most of us, a little alcohol on a first date helps to calm those nerves but don\u2019t go over the top and end up being a bit drunk \u2013 this never creates the right first impression.\u00a0 Savour your wine or other drink and taste it, don\u2019t just knock it back to get that slight buzz to reduce your nerves.\u00a0 And do a little research before the meal about what might be the best pairing of wine with possible meal options \u2013 you don\u2019t need to be an expert but a suggestion can make a good impression.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Waiting staff<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The old tip about being polite to the waiting staff is as relevant today as ever.\u00a0 If you are ignorant, unpleasant or awkward with them, you are telling your date that this is the way you act towards others and there\u2019s nothing appealing about that in the vast majority of cases.\u00a0 You don\u2019t have to go over the top or leave a stupidly large tip but treat them like the helpful people they are and create a good impression on them and your date.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conversation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It can be hard to chat with someone you hardly know but sitting around saying nothing won\u2019t work either.\u00a0 Start talking about something that you enjoy or are passionate about and this can then lead into topics that your date cares about.\u00a0 You often find shared interests that way that can keep you chatting for most of the evening.\u00a0 If all else fails, find safe ground such as job or family to start the conversion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gay Forum Dates are Fun<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Remember to enjoy yourself, you are meeting up with someone you have met on a Gay Forum for a reason, you must have liked them or had a similar interest for you to be interested in meeting them.
